How We Work: Our Simple 4-Step Process
At New Heights Trusts & Estates, we believe estate planning shouldn't be intimidating, confusing, or overwhelming. We have designed a transparent, collaborative four-step process to take you from uncertainty to total peace of mind.
Step 1: Our First Chat & Your Discovery Guide
Every great relationship starts with a conversation. We begin with a complimentary 15-minute phone call to align on your goals and ensure we are a great fit.
If we decide to work together, you will receive your personalized Discovery Guide. This intuitive tool walks you through gathering your asset, beneficiary, and fiduciary details at your own pace. By laying this clear foundation together, we make certain that our design session is incredibly efficient and entirely focused on your family’s unique needs.
Step 2: The Life & Legacy Planning Session
Next, we will sit down together for a dedicated, two-hour collaborative planning session. This is where we look at your family dynamics, your assets, your healthcare preferences, and your wishes for guardianship.
We will look at what the state's "default plan" would look like for your family if you did nothing and then design a customized roadmap - whether that includes a Will or a Trust - that perfectly aligns with your values. By the end of this meeting, you will choose the flat-fee tier that fits your budget, and you will know exactly what your plan looks like and exactly what it will cost.
Step 3: Finalizing Your Plan
Once your documents are drafted, we will meet to review every single component together, so you know exactly what you are signing. We will formally sign, witness, and notarize the documents, making your wishes legally binding.
If your plan includes a Trust, we will immediately take care of transferring your primary real estate into the Trust for you. For your remaining assets (like bank accounts or investments), you will have the choice to seamlessly fund them yourself using our customized, step-by-step roadmap, or upgrade to our Concierge Funding service where we handle all the banking and corporate paperwork on your behalf.
Step 4: The Legacy Session (More Than Just Paperwork)
We don't just hand you a binder and say goodbye. In our final session, we tie up every loose end to ensure your plan actually works when life happens. We will:
Check in on your progress with retitling assets into your Trust (if you chose to self-fund).
Provide you with formal fiduciary letters so the people you’ve nominated as guardians or executors know exactly what their roles entail and what to expect.
Review how to share your medical directives and living wills with your doctors.
The Legacy Interview: We will conduct a unique legacy interview to capture and pass down your personal stories, family history, and the things you love most about your beneficiaries - saving the priceless memories that might otherwise be lost.
This is the final step in the setup, but it’s just the beginning of our relationship. Your life will change, the law will change, and your assets will change. To make sure your plan evolves with you, we provide a free three-year review with all of our plans.
